Health and wellbeing board
The Health and Social Care Act 2012 established health and wellbeing boards as a forum where leaders across the health and social care system work together to:
- Improve the health and wellbeing of the people in their area
- Reduce health inequalities
- Promote the integration of services
Chaired by the council's cabinet member for adult social care and health, with the chair of Rotherham's clinical commissioning group as vice chair, the health and wellbeing board brings together senior NHS and social care specialists with representatives from South Yorkshire Police, Healthwatch Rotherham and Voluntary Action Rotherham.
An essential task for the board is to develop and oversee a health and wellbeing strategy, which provides the overarching framework for NHS, social care and public health commissioning plans, and informs other relevant areas such as education, housing and planning.

Community safety partnership
Safer Rotherham Partnership (SRP) is the borough's community safety partnership with statutory responsibilities established under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. It is chaired by the council's cabinet member for waste, roads and community safety.
The partnership has a legal responsibility to tackle crime, anti-social behaviour and drug and alcohol misuse, and to enhance feelings of safety. As well as the council and South Yorkshire Police, the partnership includes senior representatives from: South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, South Yorkshire Probation, South Yorkshire Community Rehabilitation Company, Voluntary Action Rotherham, Rotherham Clinical Commissioning Group and South Yorkshire Police & Crime Commissioner's Office.
The SRP plan for 2018-21 is particularly focused on: protecting vulnerable children and adults, building confident and cohesive communities, domestic abuse and other related offences, and serious and organised crime.
Children and young people's partnership

Business growth board

Chaired by a local business person and with a majority of private sector members, the board provides leadership on issues of key economic significance to the borough and provides a link to Sheffield city region's local enterprise partnership.
Strategic housing forum
Meeting quarterly and chaired by the council's assistant director for housing and neighbourhood services, the forum aims to identify opportunities for joint working on cross-cutting issues and to ensure that Rotherham is delivering on national and regional housing agendas. It also facilitates partner and stakeholder engagement in the development of RMBC housing strategies and policies.
The forum's members include representatives from housing associations, health services, the police, voluntary and community organisations and various council services involved in housing.
The draft Housing Strategy is currently out for consultation and will be published in early 2019.
